Last year, 1.5 million people signed up to the game, which included a record number of registered players in the United States following a 25 percent rise in the region year-on-year.
The demographics of F1 Fantasy in 2024 correlated with the trends being seen across the sport, with significant growth in both its younger and female audiences. Last year, 25 percent of players were female, up an incredible 24 percent from 2023, with 77 percent of players under 35, and 46 percent falling into the 16-24 age bracket.
F1 Fantasy is a free to play game, where players select five drivers and two constructors within the $100 million cost cap, as well as a selecting a ‘DRS Boost’ driver each week to score them double the points. Across the season, players can use a range of chips, including a triple point multiplier and a ‘limitless’ team cost cap budget chip, enabling players to score more points on numerous race weekends. There is the option to set up private leagues with friends and family, as well as joining global and mini leagues to compete against other fans across the world.
