Formula 1 has today announced renewed broadcast partnerships in Mexico and Belgium.
FOX Sports Mexico and Formula 1 have agreed the renewal of their exclusive license agreement until the end of the 2025 season. The renewed partnership, alongside the announcement earlier this year that F1 will continue to race in Mexico City until 2025, ensures continuity for one of the sport’s largest and most passionate fan communities.
With world class production values, a team of expert journalists with a proven track record, and an ever-expanding viewership, the three-year extension ensures that FOX Sports Mexico will continue to show every Free Practice, Qualifying, F1 Sprint and Grand Prix.
Formula 1 has also renewed its partnership with Flemish broadcaster Play Sports. F1 has played a major role in Play Sports’ broadcast offering since it first acquired the rights in 2014, and the new agreement will see the Flemish brand continue to broadcast all Qualifying, F1 Sprint and Grand Prix live during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
The broadcast partnership renewals, in separate media markets, continue to show the positive audience growth and strong momentum that Formula 1 has globally.
Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation, Formula 1, said:
“Formula 1 has always sought partnerships with media groups who excel in producing high quality, accessible content for our fans to better connect with F1. It’s a great time to be a Formula 1 fan, and the future looks bright. These partnership agreements are a statement of our intent to grow and develop our global fanbase by delivering best in country broadcasting and bringing Formula 1 to new audiences. The 2023 season will see plenty more drama and excitement, so I’m pleased that fans in Mexico and Belgium will be able to experience everything the sport has to offer.”
