Formula 1 announces Promoter Awards winners

South Florida Motorsports, the promoter of the Miami Grand Prix, has been named Promoter of the Year at the annual Formula 1 Promoter Awards, held at London’s Natural History Museum tonight (19 February).

The award, which was collected by Miami Grand Prix Managing Partner, Tom Garfinkel, was the finale of an evening that brought together leaders from all 24 Grands Prix and saw seven accolades presented, recognising the significant contributions made by promoters throughout the season in areas ranging from sustainability and event spectacle to fan experience and community engagement.

The seven awards and winners, were:

  • Promoter of the Year: Awarded to the promoter that delivered the best all-round event in 2024 and embodied the F1 mission statement to deliver the world’s greatest sports and entertainment spectacle.
    • Winner: The Miami Grand Prix.
  • Event Spectacle: Awarded to the promoter that delivered the most impressive off-track event spectacle through entertainment, concerts, and other activations during the Grand Prix
    • Winner: The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which featured headline concerts from Teddy Swims, Maroon 5, and Muse, as well as an incredible end-of-season fireworks display.
  • Fan Experience: Awarded to the promoter that provided the best overall fan experience.
    • Winner: The Singapore Grand Prix, recognised for its five entertainment stages around the circuit, innovative wayfinding, and clear branding.
  • Opening and Closing Show: Awarded to the promoter that created the most impressive pre- and post-race shows.
    • Winner: The Mexican Grand Prix, recognised for its pre-race driver presentation and overall spectacle, including mariachi bands and local dancers.
  • Innovative ESG Activation: Awarded to the promoter that implemented the most innovative ESG initiative.
    • Winner: The Belgian Grand Prix, for its comprehensive low-carbon fan travel options, recycling strategy that ensured all waste was diverted from landfill, and a biodiversity fan walkway to preserve the site’s flora and fauna.
  • Community Changemaker: Awarded to the promoter that delivered an impactful programme to remove barriers for underrepresented groups and inspire the next generation.
    • Winner: The Australian Grand Prix, recognised for its holistic social impact programme, which encompasses local community engagement, accessibility initiatives, and celebration of native culture.
  • Pole Position: Awarded to an individual member of a promoter team who went above and beyond in 2024 to help deliver an outstanding event.
    • Winner: Rachel Rong (Chinese Grand Prix).
