In 1992, the world’s first magnesium forged racing wheel for F1 at the request of Ferrari was completed by BBS although it had been recognized to be impossible until then to produce magnesium wheels through forging process.
It was the product that was completed after many challenges without giving up, making full use of our unique technology.
Furthermore, we have overcome the weaknesses of magnesium, which is vulnerable to corrosion, and succeeded in mass-production of magnesium forged wheels.
From 2022, F1 racing wheels are exclusively supplied by BBS.
The know-how cultivated in the development of racing wheels is fully used into all BBS wheels.
