Chase Carey, CEO, Formula 1®

Chase Carey was named Executive Chairman of Formula 1 in September 2016, and Chief Executive Officer in January 2017. He is responsible for the strategy and operations of Formula 1, and since his appointment has focused on increasing fan engagement with the brand on and off the track, as well as taking Formula 1 to new audiences.

From 2009 to 2016, Mr. Carey served as President and Chief Operating Officer of 21st Century Fox, as well as Executive Vice Chairman. He oversaw the world’s premiere portfolio of entertainment, news and sports franchises as well as worldwide broadcast, pay television and satellite assets. Mr. Carey continues to serve as a non-executive Vice Chairman of 21st Century Fox.

Prior to working at 21st Century Fox, Mr. Carey was President and Chief Executive Officer of DIRECTV, Inc., where he led the operations and strategic direction of the DIRECTV, Inc. companies, as well as serving on The DIRECTV Group board of directors.

Mr. Carey is also a director of Sky, Plc.  He is a graduate of Colgate University and Harvard Business School and a Trustee Emeritus at Colgate University.

Sean Bratches, Managing Director of Commercial Operations, Formula 1®

Sean Bratches was named Managing Director of the Formula 1 Commercial Operations division in January 2017. His career has been defined by innovation and vision, which has been a great source of strength during Formula 1’s evolution.

Mr. Bratches is credited as one of ESPN’s most influential leaders, and has over 27 years of experience with the international network, most recently as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

His contributions helped to fuel tremendous growth in ESPN’s brand and revenue, as he oversaw ESPN’s two primary revenue streams – advertising and sponsor sales, and content licensing – as well as the research and analytics, marketing, consumer products and events marketing divisions.

During his time at ESPN, he led a sales and marketing team that provided national advertisers access to ESPN’s leading media and marketing platforms, as well as overseeing all content licensing for the domestic cable and satellite networks of The Walt Disney Company. Under his direction, ESPN’s emerging networks and platforms such as WatchESPN, ESPN3 and the SEC Network also achieved record-setting growth.

Sean Bratches joined Formula 1 to grow the global brand even further and create next generation digital and on-site race experiences to best serve Formula 1 fans.

Ross Brawn, Managing Director of Motor Sports, Formula 1®

Ross Brawn was named Managing Director of the Formula 1 Motor Sports division in January 2017. With a 40-year engineering and management career in motor racing he is credited with having unparalleled technical knowledge of the industry, and is responsible for supporting the evolution of Formula 1.

Mr. Brawn is one of the most successful and innovative technical directors in Formula 1 history. A racing legend, he has won 22 FIA World Championships and the Le Mans 24 Hours, including 11 FIA Formula One World Championships with Ferrari, seven FIA Formula One World Championships with Williams and Benetton and both of the 2009 FIA Formula One World Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships with his own BrawnGP team.

He sold the BrawnGP team to Mercedes-Benz in 2010 and, over the following three years, continued as Team Principal to lay the foundations that enabled the team to go on and win every FIA Formula One World Championship from 2014 to the current racing season.

With unmatched experience and strong industry relationships, Ross Brawn works with the Formula 1 teams and promoters to improve the competition and bring fans closer to the action.

Duncan Llowarch – Chief Financial Officer

Duncan Llowarch was named Chief Financial Officer at Formula 1 in 2002, and has continued to serve in this role following Liberty Media Corporation’s acquisition of the business in 2017, having previously worked as CFO under various owners, including CVC Capital Partners.

Mr. Llowarch is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Prior to working at Formula 1, Mr. Llowarch worked in the audit practice at Ernst & Young.

Sacha Woodward Hill – General Counsel

Sacha is the General Counsel and a member of the board of directors at Formula 1. Her responsibilities include the oversight of Formula 1’s legal, compliance, brand protection, human resources and administration functions.  She was recruited to join Formula 1 as a lawyer in 1996 by its founder Bernie Ecclestone and she has been its chief legal officer since 2000. Under her leadership, F1’s legal team has adapted and grown into a broad-based team of highly-skilled lawyers who support F1’s activities worldwide with legal advice, deal negotiation and risk management.

Sacha is a practising solicitor admitted in England and Wales. Before joining Formula 1 in 1996, she worked in several well-known London law firms. She is a graduate of University of Cambridge where she read Natural Sciences and Law at Corpus Christi College.
